Tom Campbell

Tom Campbell is a multi-award winning Lighting and Production Designer with a fifteen-year career in the entertainment industry spanning theatre, festivals, television, and music. Working out of acclaimed design-house MIRRAD, Tom has developed visual spectaculars for some of the most unique and revolutionary artists touring today, including Thirty Seconds to Mars, The Amazons, Zeds Dead, John Grant, and Karnivool.

Tom began his lighting journey at the Bristol Hippodrome, after graduating from Filton College with a triple distinction National Diploma in Technical Theatre. His knowledge and experience were quickly recognised by visiting production staff from legendary producer Bill Kenwright Ltd, leading to a stint of Chief Electrician and Re-Lighting roles on both UK and international tours for shows including Cabaret, Evita, and Blood Brothers.

Through his work at the O2 Academy Bristol, Tom once again caught the attention of his fellow professionals and moved into the world of music and concert touring, touring with singer-songwriter Katy B in the summer of 2012 before picking up Lighting Designer and Director credits with artists as varied as Saint Etienne, Django Django, Palma Violets, Jessie Ware and The Family Rain, before picking up his first Knight Of Illumination sword for his work with Anna Calvi & The London Heritage Orchestra.

Now an established and in-demand creative, Tom continued his incredible career developing production, scenic and lighting designs for huge names such as The Hunna, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Coasts and Bullet For My Valentine, before being recognised with a second Knight Of Illumination win for Nick Mulvey’s Wake Up Now tour.

In 2020 Tom was recognised once again, this time by Total Production International magazine in their TPi Awards being shortlisted for Lighting Designer of the Year.

Tom approaches every design with the passion and imagination that has earned him a reputation as one of the leading innovators in his field and is always open to new projects with artists who want to push boundaries and captivate audiences like never before.
